This brings back memories of when I was a child. Those were the days when Christmas meant something to me.

I found this article very interesting. It shows the impact the recently lifted curfew had and continues to have on the parang season competitions, as organised and overseen by the National Parang Association of Trinidad and Tobago (NPATT). Is the Government and businesses really supporting this seasonal genre of music? Will traditional parang survive if NPATT is not funded? You judge and tell us what you think after reading the story via the above link.

Where is the Parang on the Radio?????????
PARANG ON THE AIRWAYS!!!
With the Christmas season in full effect the joyous and festive mood seems to be stagnant among the society in trinidad. Lately only one RADIO station is trying to create the festive atmosphere for the public. Sweet 100 is truly trying to create and maintain the Christmas Spirit with the Introduction of the PARANG music as a special part of Christmas.
The radio station has parang competitions as well as office parties. There can be alot of ways via the radio as well as the media can use to promote the local aspects of parang and to make the "FEEL GOOD MUSIC" linger for years to come. By AP
WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP???
